about the product

What's in this stuff?

Pongo is made from naturally sourced ingredients. We use sugar alcohol (maltitol) as an alternative to cane sugar to help sweeten our spread and preserve that incredible flavor you've craved your whole life. You can find our nutritional information here.

If there is only 1g of added sugar, why are there 17g of carbs per serving?

Per FDA guidelines, we add the sugar alcohols to the Total Carb count on the nutrition label. However, sugar alcohols like maltitol have a much lower caloric density than sugar, so the reality is that our net carbs are much lower - just 5g per serving.

Okay, what are the 5g of carbs per serving?

The hazelnuts, cocoa butter, and skim milk powder have some naturally occuring sugars in them. It's a small price to pay for the amazing taste and much less than Nutella's 22g per serving.

Can I enjoy Pongo if I'm on the keto diet?

Pongo is a great treat for keto folks. With just 5g of net carbs and 0.5g saturated fat per serving, it's a low-carb decadence that you can enjoy guilt-free.

Is Pongo organic? Non-GMO? Kosher?

We are not certified organic nor are we non-GMO, but we're working on it. We sure are kosher!

Is Pongo plant-based?

No, there are two dairy ingredients in Pongo - whey and skim milk powder.
